For the first time
all season, the Cerritos College women's cross
country team did not factor in the team scoring of
an invitational. With two second place and two
fourth place finishes under their belt this season,
the Falcons sent just four freshman runners to the
Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park on
Saturday. The team's top runners took the week off
in preparation for the Santa Barbara Invitational
this Saturday.
The quartet of
runners consisted of freshman
Erica
Sandoval (La Mirada HS), who
came in 57th place out of 107 runners with a time of
21:39.03 over the 5K distance. Next Falcon to finish
was freshman
Selena Gallegos (Santa
Fe HS), with a time of 23:00.65, good for 77th
place, while freshman
Misheal
Jacho (Warren HS) was clocked
in 25:21.86, which put her in 90th place. The fourth
runner for Cerritos was freshman
Nadia
Jurado (Long Beach Wilson HS),
who came in 94th place with a time of 26:19.12.
