09.27.06 - Shorthanded Falcons
come up big in 4-0 win over East LA
Knowing they would be playing
their South Coast Conference opener shorthanded,
the Cerritos College women's soccer team knew
one of the most important aspects of their game
at East Los Angeles College on Tuesday was to
keep the pressure away from their own goal. With
sophomore goalkeeper
Elizabeth Sanchez
(Bachillerato
#30, Mexico HS)
forced to miss the game due to a red card in the
previous game, and being the only true keeper on
the team, the Falcons turned to sophomore
Diana
Limon
(Long
Beach Millikan HS)
to get in the net. Not only did she turn away
the three shots she faced, Limon recorded a
shutout, as Cerritos registered a 4-0 win over
the Huskies. The team also played without the
services of freshman
Karina
Rivera
(Garfield
HS)
and sophomore
Ailema
Damian
(El
Monte HS),
who also received red cards in the win over
Victor Valley College on Monday. With the win,

to miss the South Coast Conference opener at
East Los Angeles College on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.

got physical in front of the benches and the

freshman forward
Karina
Rivera
(Garfield

and sophomore defender
Ailema
Damian

09.20.06 - Cerritos disposes
of undefeated San Bernardino Valley, 6-0
Facing one of the few remaining
undefeated teams in Southern California, the
Cerritos College women's soccer team wasted
little time showing San Bernardino Valley
College that they are one of the elite teams in
the area, as the Falcons scored in the first
minute of the game and rode that momentum to a
6-0 non-conference win on Tuesday. For the
Falcons, who are rated 16th in the country, they
improved their season mark to 5-1-1, while the
Wolverines dropped to 7-1-0. There is a chance
that Cerritos may have their tie removed from
their record and replaced with a victory, as San
Diego Mesa has filed paperwork stating that they
will need to forfeit their result, a 2-2 tie on
September 8. Next up for the Falcons is a home
match at 4:00 p.m. against Antelope Valley
College on Friday...[more]

Valley College...[more]

Wednesday, the Falcons traveled to Costa Mesa to
face the Pirates and came away with a 1-0
non-conference victory that improved their

09.04.06 - Cerritos wins two

sophomores, posted wins over Santa Rosa College
(2-1) and the host Cougars (6-1) to improve
