The Cerritos College women's soccer
team, having their best season in school history, earned
the #3-seed for the upcoming Southern California
Regional Playoffs. The Falcons, 20-1-0 on the year and
first-time champions of the South Coast Conference, will
host #14-seeded Rio Hondo College (13-5-3) on Saturday
at 11:00 a.m. Cerritos head coach
Ruben
Gonzalez, in his second season with
the Falcons, is very familiar with the Roadrunners,
where he served as their head coach prior to coming to
the Norwalk campus.
A win by Cerritos, who is also ranked
#4 in the state, will move them to the second round,
where they will host the winner of the #6-seeded
Grossmont College game against #11-seeded Mt. San
Antonio College, which would be played next Tuesday at a
time to be determined. Tickets for the game are $5.00
for adults and $3.00 for students.
This is the highest seed for the
Falcons, who were seeded #6 last season and won their
first post-season game in school history.
