The Cerritos College women's soccer team ran their winning streak to 10 games after posting a 4-0 South Coast Conference home win against East Los Angeles College on Friday afternoon. With the victory, the Falcons remain all alone in first place in the SCC with a 7-0-0 mark and are now 15-1-0 on the season. They will now take to the road to face ECC Compton Center at 2:00 p.m. next Tuesday.

Sophomore midfielder Diana Limon (Long Beach Millikan HS) scored a goal and assisted on two others to lead Cerritos in the win, while sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Sanchez (Bachillerato #30, Mexico HS) recorded her eighth shutout of the season and fourth in the last five games. She also picked up her first career assist, while making five stops on the day. In the seven conference wins, Cerritos has won five of them by 4-0 scores and have six on the season.

Cerritos got on the board in the 22nd minute when sophomore Nancy Gutierrez (A.B. Miller HS), who's normally a defender, moved up to midfield and drilled home a goal with Limon earning the assist. Limon connected with freshman Karina Rivera (Garfield HS) for the second goal just three minutes later after sophomore midfielder Jackie Flores (Lynwood HS) cleared the ball away to Limon, who sent a nice pass into the box for Rivera.

In the second half, Rivera picked up her second goal when Sanchez cleared the ball after making a save. The ball was picked up by Rivera, who dribbled in near the net and scored past Huskies goalkeeper Dyana Molina. Limon closed out the scoring in the 84th minute when she received a pass from sophomore Sandra Jacobo (Long Beach Millikan HS) and sent a shot on net that squirted under the arm of a diving Molina. The Falcons, who out-shot East LA 18-4, had numerous chances to score throughout the game, with sophomore Nykollet Leyva (California HS) missing two great chances withing the same minute.
