For the first 728 minutes she played in goal, Cerritos College freshman Laura Ropp (Lakewood HS) had not allowed an opponent to score on her. But, with just four minutes left in a 1-1 tie against visiting El Camino College, Ropp saw a slow roller from Justine Zavala go between her legs and the Warriors posted a 2-1 upset over the Falcons. The loss drops the Falcons record to 18-2-0 overall and 11-2-0 in SCC with just one regular season game remaining. Cerritos will host East Los Angeles College at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

After falling behind 1-0 in the 27th minute on a goal by KayC Wharton, as her chip shot bounced slowly in the net after it got over freshman goalkeeper Erika Trejo's (Artesia HS) head. Trejo came out to cut the ball down, but Wharton was able to get to the ball and lift it over Trejo for a goal. The two goals by El Camino are only the fifth and sixth goals Cerritos has allowed all season.

But prior to the end of the first half, Cerritos tied the game in the 40th minute as freshman Jessica Ortiz (Narbonne HS) lifted a crossing ball to freshman Victoria Florez (Bishop Amat HS), who scored off the pass and into the net.

Trejo made one save in the first 45 minutes, while Ropp posted one in the final 45 minutes. Alicia Sala made 11 saves for the Warriors, as the Falcons attempted 16 shots.

In the 71st minute, Cerritos had a chance to take the lead, but Viridiana Ortega's (Fremont HS) shot hit the crossbar. Aside from the two goals, the Falcons controlled the tempo the majority of the game and allowed El Camino just five shots on goal.
