(Gahr HS) set a new school record in
the 50-yard breaststroke at the state championships over
the weekend at Ohlone College. Badali, along with
freshman
Salina Mesa
(Montebello HS), competed in five events and
compiled 52 team points, which put the Falcons in 20th
place, while Diablo Valley College went on to win the

disqualified from the 200-yard individual medley and did

04.28.07 - Three qualify for state
after team comes in fourth place
The Cerritos College women's swimming
team finished in fourth place at the South Coast
Conference Championships this past weekend, as they
earned 482 team points. Chaffey College won the event
with 770 points, with Long Beach City College (607) and
El Camino College (505) finishing ahead of the Falcons.
But, with the team's 5-2 dual meet record, they picked
up enough total points to finish in third place in the
final standings. Along the way during the meet, Cerritos
had three swimmers qualify for the State Championships,
which will be held at Ohlone College next weekend...[more]
04.21.07 - Diver misses out on being
an alternate

Saira Arias
(Bellflower HS), in her first year as
a diver, just missed out on serving as an alternate for
the state championships in both the 1-meter and 3-meter
competition at the Southern California Diving
Championships on Saturday. Arias, who came in second
place in the South Coast Conference Championships in
both events behind Chaffey College's Emily Moehle, came
up short in placing in the top eight positions. The top
six automatically qualify for the state championships,
which will be held at Ohlone College on May 3-6, while
the next two with the highest points serve as the

Falcons at Pasadena Invitational
The duo of freshmen

(Montebello HS) were two key components for the
Cerritos College women's swimming team, as they placed
fifth at the Pasadena Invitational over the weekend. The
pair combined to compile 114 team points in individual
races, while they also had a part in four relay races
for another 88 team points. For the tournament, the
Falcons had 280 team points to account for their fifth

03.30.07 - Vikings had Falcons first
loss of the season
The Cerritos College women's swimming
team suffered their first loss of the year, as they
dropped an 85-45 decision to Long Beach City College in
the Falcon Pool on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the
Falcons and Vikings are both 5-1 in South Coast
Conference action, while Cerritos will close out the
conference season next Friday against Rio Hondo College
and Chaffey College at Rio Hondo...[more]
03.22.07 - Big wins by Falcons set up
showdown with Long Beach
The Cerritos College women's swimming
team dominated their two South Coast Conference
opponents at home on Thursday, as they won 12 of the 15
races held. The Falcons, who improved to 4-0 in the
conference and overall, posted wins over Los Angeles
Trade-Tech College (114-14) and Pasadena City College
(96-34), as they prepare to host Long Beach City College
next Friday at 2:30 p.m. The conference championship

03.17.07 - Falcons place ninth at
Cuesta Invitational
The Cerritos College women's swimming
team accumulated 171 team points to place ninth at the
Cuesta Invitational this past weekend, which is a strong
indication as to how good the young team is becoming.
With all but one member of the team a freshman, the
Falcons are quickly showing other teams that they are
getting better week after week. The team will now host a
South Coast Conference three-way meet on Thursday, as
Los Angeles Trade-Tech College and Pasadena City College

03.07.07 - Falcons open conference
with two wins
By the slimmest of margins, the Cerritos
College women's swimming team came away with two South
Coast Conference victories on Thursday, as they defeated
El Camino College (71-59) and Mt. San Antonio (66-65).
The Falcons will now travel north to compete in the

03.03.07 - Records keep falling for
Falcon swimmers
The Cerritos College women's swimming
season may only be a few weeks old, but two more school
records fell, while 12 others moved themselves in the
Top 5 in school history. The Falcons accomplished their
great marks at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational, where
they placed fifth with 283.5 team points. Cerritos
bested the other two South Coast Conference teams that
were in the meet. Next up for the Falcons will be a
South Coast Conference meet against both Mt. San Antonio
College and the host school, El Camino College on
