Cerritos Swimming (2009):
Was a member of four relay teams that earned
All-American honors last season and also broke
five school relay records… They included the
200-yard freestyle relay (1:44.14), 400-yard
freestyle relay (3:41.57), 800-yard freestyle
(8:12.52), 200-yard medley relay (1:53.31) and
400-yard medley relay (4:09.15)… Placed 15th
in the state championships in the 50-yard
backstroke and also qualified in the 100-yard
IM… Came in third place in the South Coast
Conference Championships in the 50-yard
backstroke, 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard IM…
Sunny Hills HS:
Spent four years on the swimming team… Reached
the CIF Championships in the 100-yard backstroke
(1:01.81) her senior and junior years… Named her
team’s Most Valuable Player and Team Captain as
a senior… Also the team captain her junior year
when they won the Freeway League championship…
Won the league championship in the 100-yard
backstroke as a junior and advanced to the CIF
Championships, while she won the league title in
the 100-yard butterfly as a sophomore… Advanced
to the CIF Master Meet finals in a relay race
her sophomore year, while she was a Division II
CIF Finalist in the 500-yard freestyle as a
freshman… Was coached by former Cerritos College
water polo players Roy Contreras and her
brother, Edward Kim…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when she won the
league championship in the 100-yard backstroke
as a junior and when she was a CIF Division III
consolation finalist in the 500-yard freestyle…
Is working on a minor in communications and
aspires to be either a magazine or newspaper
columnist or even open a publishing company…
Likes to play the guitar and blog in her spare
time… Her brother Edward (22) was on the Falcon
water polo and swimming teams and also swam at
the West point Military Academy… Is the daughter
of Sung and Sun Hee Kim… Born in San Fernando
Valley, CA on February 10, 1990….. |
