Cerritos Swimming (2008):
Selected the college’s Freshman Female Athlete
of the Year… Followed an All-American freshman
water polo season by earning All-American honors
in three events in swimming… Turned in the
third-fastest community college time in the
country in the 50-yard backstroke at 28.29,
which also placed her third in the state
championships… Her time of 1:00.95 in the
100-yard backstroke garnered her a fifth place
in the state championship and was the seventh
fastest time in the country… Set four individual
school records and swam a leg of a relay school
record… Posted new school records in the 50-yard
backstroke (28.29), 100-yard backstroke
(1:00.95), 1000-yard freestyle (11:44.96; since
broken) and 1650-yard freestyle (19:24.55; since
broken)… Was a part of the 200-yard medley relay
team that set a school record of 2:00.16 (since
broken)… Placed 13th place in the
state championships in the 500-yard freestyle…
Won the conference championship in the 50-yard
backstroke, 100-yard backstroke and 500-yard
freestyle…..
Cerritos College Water Polo
(2008): Was a member
of the state championship water polo team…
Became the first Cerritos College water polo
player to be named 1st Team
All-American two years in a row, as well as
being named the Southern California Player of
the Year… Also voted the South Coast Conference
Most Valuable Player for the second year in a
row… Led the team with 92 goals and 32 assists
while also contributing 37 steals… Set the
school-record for most goals in a career (192),
while her 92 are the third-most in a season…
Also set a new school record for most assists in
a season with 32… Scored three times in the
state championship game against Long Beach City
College after accounting for five goals and two
steals in the semi-final win over Riverside
College… Had a season-high six goals, with three
assists and two steals in the win over Fullerton
College that sent the team to the state
tournament… Scored three goals with five assists
in the South Coast Conference Tournament
championship game against Long Beach City… Had
six goals against Chaffey College, while she put
five in the net against Southwestern College,
Grossmont College and Riverside College… Scored
four times in four other games…..
Cerritos Water Polo (2007):
Was a 1st Team All-American and 1st
Team All-Southern California selection… Named
the South Coast Conference Co-Player of the
Year… Finished the year second in the state with
104 goals, which is also the second most in the
school’s history for one year… Converted 56% of
her shots and also added six assists and 70
steals, which were the second most on the team…
Scored a season-high eight goals in a game
against Pasadena City College, which is the
second most goals scored in a game in school
history… Also had six goals in three games and
five in four different games… Her 70 steals are
also the seventh most in a season… Recorded a
season-high six steals against Cuesta, Chaffey
and San Diego Mesa Colleges… Also had five
steals in another game against Chaffey
College…..
Downey HS:
Spent four seasons on the water polo and
swimming teams… Named the CIF Division VI Most
Valuable Player as a junior on the water polo
team and earned All-CIF 1st Team
honors all four seasons… Also named the San
Gabriel Valley League’s Most Valuable Player as
a senior and was a four-time 1st Team
all-league pick… Helped lead her team to two CIF
Championships, as well as four consecutive
league titles…..

Her father and uncles all played soccer…
Nicknamed “Stephy Steph”… Is the daughter of
Rafael and Rosa Rosero… Born in Fountain Valley,
CA March 18, 1989….. |
