05.09.08 - Annika You loses opening match at state
Cerritos College sophomore women's tennis player Annika You (John Marshall HS/Cal Poly Pomona) saw her season come to an end when she was defeated in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships, which are being held at the El Dorado Tennis Center in Long Beach. You, who was the lone Falcon to reach the state championships, was defeated by Chabot College's Amber Marsden, 6-0, 6-2. You, who was ranked #8 in Southern California, saw her season record conclude at 22-10, while the #7-seeded Marsden was defeated in the quarterfinals. You also advanced to the finals of the South Coast Conference Championships this year.

05.03.08 - Singles player qualifies for state
Cerritos College sophomore women's tennis player Annika You (John Marshall HS/Cal Poly Pomona) extended her season by reaching the quarterfinals of the Southern California Regional Tournament, which is taking place at Santa Barbara City College. You, who was seeded #6 in the tournament, was defeated by Orange Coast College's Brittany Bass, 5-7, 3-6 and was eliminated. 04.26.08 - Loss eliminates You from Ojai Tournament
Cerritos College women's tennis player Annika You (John Marshall HS/Cal Poly Pomona) was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Ojai Tournament on Saturday by Lorana Zago of College of the Desert, 1-6, 2-6. You was the final Falcons player remaining in the tournament. As the remaining Cerritos College women's tennis player at the Ojai Tournament, sophomore Annika You (John Marshall HS/Cal Poly Pomona) has advanced to the quarterfinals after winning both of her matches on Friday. You opened the day with a marathon 7-6 (3), 5-7, 6-2 win over Amber Marsden of Chabot College. She was then required to come back with very little rest and posted a 7-5, 6-3 win over Chloe Redman of Cuesta College. With both doubles teams and a singles player already eliminated from the Ojai Tournament, the lone Cerritos College women’s tennis player remaining is sophomore Annika You (John Marshall HS/Cal Poly Pomona). After a first round bye, You upended Rosyli Reveron of Victor Valley College, 6-1, 6-0 and is now scheduled to play on Friday. 04.22.08 - Falcons defeated by Cuesta in playoffs
The Cerritos College women's tennis team spent the morning travelling to San Luis Obispo to face Cuesta College in the first round of the Southern California Regional Team Playoffs. The Falcons, champions of the South Coast Conference, were seeded #7, while the Western State Conference champion Cougars (16-0) were seeded #2 and undefeated on the season. Before they could compete in doubles play, Cuesta had won five of the six singles matches to clinch the victory, which eliminated the Falcons (15-5) from team tournament play. Cerritos College sophomore tennis player Annika You (John Marshall HS/Cal Poly Pomona) was unable to defeat her toughest opponent all season long, as she was beaten by Long Beach City College's Courtney Petero, 2-6, 3-6 in the finals of the South Coast Conference Singles Championships at LBCC on Friday. Cerritos College sophomore singles player Annika You (John Marshall HS) defeated sophomore teammate Steffanie Mendez (Bellflower HS), 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals and then eliminated Kim Stern (Long Beach City), 6-0, 6-1 to advance to the championship match of the South Coast Conference Tennis Championships at Long Beach City College on Thursday.
