(Troy HS) was at a bit of a disadvantage, as
she was coming off a hard fought semi-final match at the
State Championship at American River College on
Saturday. Nadres seemed to have overcome any fatigue, as
she took a commanding 4-0 lead in the first set in the
championship match against Ashley Litchfield of Ventura
College. But Litchfield came back and posted a 7-6 (1)
win in the first set. Once again, Nadres took a lead
(2-0) in the second set, but Litchfield swept the final

Palomar College's Arina Polovnikova in three sets. In
the quarterfinals of the state championships at American
River College on Friday, Nadres exacted her revenge with
a 6-1, 6-3 win to advance to the semi-finals. Nadres
will now be facing Chloe Redman of Cuesta College, who
defeated her in three sets in the Southern California

the playoffs
The Cerritos College women's
tennis team squared off against Cuesta College in the
first round of the Southern California Regional Team
Playoffs for the second straight year. For the Falcons,
the end result was the same as last year, as the
#2-seeded Cougars (13-0) posted a 5-1 win over #7-seeded
Cerritos, ending their team season at 12-4. The match
was resumed on Monday April 20th after being postponed
due to high winds on April 14th, which forced the

Regional singles and doubles tournament, the Cerritos

Due to 60-mile an hour winds,
the Cerritos College women's tennis match at Cuesta
College in the first round of the Southern California
Regional Playoffs has been postponed until next Monday
at Cuesta. The Falcons, seeded #7 in the playoffs, had
just started their match against the #2-seeded Cougars
when the winds blew through. According to the rules,
when winds reach a level that's considered dangerous to

On the heels of their third
straight South Coast Conference championship, and fifth
in the last six years, the Cerritos College women's
tennis team has been seeded #7 in the Southern
California Regional Playoffs. As a result, the Falcons
(12-3) will travel to face #2-seeded Cuesta College at
2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. It will mark the first meeting of
the season between the two teams, but it was the Cougars
who eliminated the Falcons last year in the first round

straight conference title
The Cerritos College women's
tennis team clinched their third straight South Coast
Conference championship and fifth in the last six years
after a 9-0 win at Long Beach City College on Thursday.
The Falcons, 12-3 overall, finished the conference
season with an 8-1 record and will be seeded in the
Southern California Playoffs, which will be announced at
a later date. The team will close out their regular
season with a non-conference make-up match at home next

the Cerritos College women's tennis team moved back into

For the second time in 12
days, the Cerritos College women’s tennis team posted a
South Coast Conference shutout win over Long Beach City
College. The Falcons defeated the host Vikings, 9-0 to
improve their season record to 9-3, while they are 5-1
in conference play. The team will now take a break from
conference action and host four-year school Lewis &

followed that with three straight-set doubles victories
to lead the team to an 8-1 home victory over El Camino
College on Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Falcons

After dropping a close match
to Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday, the Cerritos
College women's tennis team came right back and easily
defeated Long Beach City College, 9-0 in a South Coast
Conference match. With the win, the Falcons are now 7-3
overall and 3-1 in conference action. They will now host
El Camino College in another SCC match at 2:00 p.m. next
Thursday.
Cerritos dominated in both singles
and doubles, as they lost just four games in singles
play and five in doubles action. From the third position
down to the sixth, the Falcons shut out the Vikings,
6-0, 6-0, with wins coming from freshmen

College women's tennis team headed south and posted a

fifth straight win
The bottom half of the singles
ladder swept through their matches in straight sets,
while all three doubles teams won in straight sets, as
the Cerritos College women's tennis team picked up their
fifth straight win, defeating Mt. San Antonio College,
8-1 on Thursday. The South Coast Conference win by the
Falcons improves their record to 5-2 on the season,
while they are 2-0 in SCC action. The team will now head
down to San Diego Mesa College for a weekend
tournament.
At the top of the
singles ladder, the Falcons needed to go into
tie-breakers to win, while the bottom of the ladder
