The Cerritos College women's
tennis season came to an end when none of the
singles or doubles teams were able to advance to the
state championships after they were eliminated in
the Southern California Regional Playoffs this past
weekend in San Diego.
In singles play, freshmen
Steffanie
Mendez
(Bellflower
HS),
Hannah
Brillinger
(John
Glenn HS)
and
Sarai Koo
(Cerritos
HS)
were each ousted in their first matches. Both
Brillinger and Koo received byes in the first round,
while Koo was defeated, 6-2, 6-0 in her first round
match. Mendez and Koo were both defeated in straight
sets in their lone match.
The doubles teams of Koo and
sophomore
Asha Badal
(Mayfair
HS),
along with Mendez and freshman
Jelanie
DeGuzman
(Downey
HS)
were both defeated in their first round match in
straight sets. |
