Cerritos College women's tennis player Annika You (John Marshall HS/Cal Poly Pomona) was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Ojai Tournament on Saturday by Lorana Zago of College of the Desert, 1-6, 2-6. You was the final Falcons player remaining in the tournament. You and her teammates will now prepare to compete in the Southern California Regional Playoffs, which start on Thursday at Santa Barbara City College.
You, who qualified for the regional playoffs in singles, as well as in doubles with sophomore Sonia Gutierrez (Norwalk HS), will be joined by Gutierrez, sophomore Steffanie Mendez (Bellflower HS) and freshman Shamariah DeRojas (La Mirada HS) in singles play. Also qualifying in doubles were Mendez and freshman Cristina Sanchez (La Mirada HS), as well as DeRojas and freshman Joanna Gonzalez (Lynwood HS).
