HIGH SCHOOL: LA MIRADA HIGH SCHOOL (2007)

MAJOR: PSYCHOLOGY

Cerritos (2008): Went 10-5 in singles action and split time between the #3-#6 spots… Reached the semi-finals of the South Coast Conference singles championships, where she lost to eventual champion Courtney Petero of Long Beach City… Teamed with Joanna Gonzalez in doubles action and posted a 13-6 record with her, while she was a combined 14-7 including other partners…..  

La Mirada HS: Attended Fullerton College out of high school, but did not participate in any sports… Voted her team’s Most Valuable Player her senior year after reaching the Suburban League singles quarterfinals… Named the team’s captain as a junior and senior… Earned the Coaches Award as a junior… Voted the junior varsity team’s Most Improved Player as a sophomore after being named their Most Inspirational Player her freshman season…..

Personal: Would like to transfer to either Cal State Fullerton or Cal State Long Beach and aspires to be either a psychiatrist or guidance counselor… Her brother Julius (24) was on the track and basketball teams at Troy High, while twins Vaniah (21) and Elijah (21) also competed in sports at La Mirada High… Her father was a sprinter in Ecuador… Likes to find new music and spend time with friends in her spare time… Nicknamed “Shamy”… Is the daughter of Julio and Marisa DeRojas… Born in La Mirada, CA on September 30, 1989…..
