first six singles matches, each team had one
three, which meant the match would be
decided by the doubles teams. However, the
Mounties closed out the match by winning the
first two doubles matches, while the third
was halted due to darkness. Playing without

0-6, 4-6 to close out the match. In the
third doubles match, sophomores
Shamariah DeRojas (La Mirada HS)

Cristina Sanchez (La Mirada
HS) were tied, 6-7 (5), 6-2 before it
was halted due to darkness.
Winning
for the Falcons in singles play were Yi
(7-5, 6-2), who assumed the #1 position in
the absence of Nadres, while Johnson (6-7
(2), 6-2, 10-5) fought back for a win in the
#4 spot, with Sanchez winning by default
injury in the #6 position. Nguyen, who lost
her first set in the #3 spot, 2-6, came back
to defeat Su, 6-2 to force a third set,
where she was defeated, 10-2.
