After both doubles teams and the one singles player that advance to the Southern California Regional Tournament were eliminated, the Cerritos College women's tennis season officially came to an end. All of the entries were defeated on the first day of the tournament, which was held at Grossmont College. The top eight finishers advance to the state tournament, which will be held at Fresno City College.
In singles play, freshman Kimberly Diaz (Norwalk HS) won her opening match, a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Alex Baker of Antelope Valley College, but was defeated, 0-6, 0-6 by Grossmont's Samantha Sismundo. The doubles team of freshmen Camille Torres (La Entrada HS) and Hui You Sohn (Cerritos HS) opened the tournament with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Frances Boman and Ashley Jones of Mt. San Jacinto College. Their next match was a 2-6, 1-6 loss at the hands of Anna Walinowicz and Lianne Wheelock of Orange Coast College. The other doubles team of freshmen Diana Casiano (Mayfair HS) and Dominique Luna (Santa Fe HS) were defeated 0-6, 0-6 by #6-seeded Nakieta Hein and Jeanette Losaria of Saddleback College.
