The Cerritos College women’s track and field
400-meter relay team of sophomore

Sherrelle Dilworth

Tavonia Clay (Moskegan
(WI) HS) and sophomore
Lei Richardson (Las
Vegas (NV) HS/Lassen College) placed second to only
Mt. San Antonio with a tine of 49.84 at the South Coast
Conference All-Comers meet at Mt. San Antonio College on
Friday. The Falcons will now compete in their first
scoring meet on Friday when they go to Long Beach City
College and join Pasadena City College, East Los Angeles
College and Los Angeles Southwest College.
In other running events, the trio of
freshman
Amanda Rosencrantz (Kennedy HS),
sophomore Kelly Corral (St. Anthony HS)
and sophomore
Jackie Taylor (Long Beach Poly
HS) took the top three spots in the 600-meter run,
while sophomore Meryl Follosco (Kennedy HS)
won both the 1200-meter and 3200-meter races.
Taylor also performed well in her field
events, as she recorded the second-best javelin throw in
the state so far with a distance of 109’ 10”, while
sophomore Tatyana Ricks (Lakewood HS)
posted a height of 5’ 0” in the high jump. |
