The Cerritos College
women's track and field
team have advanced nine
individuals, as well as
both of their relay
teams to the Southern
California Finals, which
will be held at UC San
Diego next Saturday. Of
the nine individuals who
have advanced in the
non-relay events, only
one did so in multiple
events. Freshman thrower
Maria Rodriguez
(Bell HS)
advanced in all three
events in which she
competed, as she
finished fifth in both
the hammer and discus,
while she came in eighth
place in the shot put.
Three other Falcons
advanced in field
events, with freshman
Khandie Brooks (Dorsey
HS) coming in sixth
place in the long jump,
sophomore
Le'Sauna Johnson
(Long Beach Poly HS)
advancing with her 12th
place in the triple
jump, while freshman
Jarvina McClain
(El Rancho HS)
will join Rodriguez in
the discus after coming
in sixth place.
