Cross Country: Spent
four years on the San Jose State University
cross country team… Was a four-time Academic
All-Western Athletic Conference selection…
Selected 2nd Team All-WAC as a junior
and senior… Had six career top-25 finishes and
seven career finishes under 19:00.00… Placed 40th
in the WAC Championships her senior year… As a
junior, she finished 14th in the WAC
Championships and 88th in the NCAA
Regional Championships… Earned her degrees in
behavioral science and sociology….
St. Paul HS:
Spent four years on the track
team and three on the cross country team… In
track, she was her team’s Most Valuable Runner
three years in a row and was a four-time All-Del
Rey League selection… Reached the CIF Finals in
the 1600 meters (5.11), as well as running the
100-meter hurdles (17.08) and 300-meter hurdles
(47.61)… Won the league championship in the
300-meter hurdles as a freshman and sophomore
and won the league title in the 100-meter
hurdles as a sophomore… Set a school record in
the 300-meter hurdles with her time of 47.61…
With the cross country team, she was a
three-time All-State selection and two-time
league champion… Was the state runner-up as a
senior with a time of 18:30, while she helped
her team win the Mt. SAC Sweepstakes
championship as a sophomore…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was finishing second in
the state cross country championships as a
senior and winning the league title as a
freshman… Aspires to be a school psychologist,
school counselor or marriage and family
counselor… Likes to go to concerts in her spare
time… Has two siblings – Laura (26) and Jennifer
(19)… Is the daughter of Frank and Jesusa
Elizalde… Born in Long Beach, CA on February 14,
