Cerritos College Athletics - 2006 Women's Water Polo Bio: Hanna Anzai

Was a 2^nd Team All-South Coast Conference selection last year… Also earned the team’s Defensive Player of the Year… Finished with 31 goals, 26 assists and a school-record 96 steals last season… Scored a season-high five goals on five attempts in a win over Rio Hondo College in the conference tournament… Also recorded a school-record 11 steals in that game… Scored four goals in a win over Modesto College and recorded a season-high five assists in a win over El Camino College… Registered seven steals in a wins over College of the Canyons, El Camino College and Los Angeles Valley College… Had six steals in a loss to Fullerton College… Was a member of the Falcon swimming team last year and advanced to the state championships in the 100-yard freestyle (where she placed sixth), 50-yard freestyle and in the 100-meter butterfly… Named her team’s Offensive Player of the Year as a senior in high school… Earned 1^st Team All-Suburban League honors… Picked up the Coaches Award as a sophomore and junior and was named their Most Valuable Player and Best Defensive Player her junior year… Played for former Falcon Roy Contreras… Also spent four years on the swim team and earned the Coaches Award as a senior… Was a 2^nd Team All-League selection her junior year and was the Most Improved Player as a freshman… Would like to transfer to the University of Texas and study to be a pediatric nurse… Mom and brother Inori (21) competed sports in high school… Likes to eat in her spare time… Nicknamed “Ookii”… Has one sister - Faye (14)… Is the daughter of Byron and Miki Anzai… Born in Bellflower, CA on October 30, 1987…..
