Finished second in the state with 104
goals scored, which set a new school record… Was an
All-American selection, the first in school history…
Also earned 1st Team All-South Coast
Conference and 1st Team All-Southern
California honors last season… Voted team team’s Most
Valuable Player… Added 25 assists and 44 steals on the
year, as the team set a new record for most wins in a
season (21) and just missed out on the playoffs for the
first time… Scored six goals in the team’s win over Rio
Hondo College in the conference tournament and accounted
for six goals in a 10-8 double-overtime win against Mt.
San Antonio… Scored seven of the team’s eight goals in
an 8-5 win against Citrus College and added six in a win
against El Camino College… Had six tallies in a win over
Rio Hondo College and seven in the team’s first-ever
shutout, a 16-0 decision against College of the Canyons…
Had six goals in a win against Pasadena City College and
seven in a win over Palomar College… Scored six times
against Fullerton College… Picked up a season-high five
steals against Pasadena City and added four steals in a
win over El Camino College… Was on the Falcon swimming
team last season… While in high school, she was named 1st
Team All-Del Rio League as a senior after earning 2nd
Team honors as a junior… Team advanced to the CIF finals
her senior year… Also spent three years on the swimming
team… Helped lead her swimming team to two straight Del
Rio League championships… Also advanced to the CIF
Finals in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle…
Posted personal best times in the 100 (1.01) and 200
(2:13)… Named her team’s Most Improved Player as a
senior… Most memorable moment was when she scored three
goals in the fourth quarter to lead her team to a 9-6
win over Ayala High to advance to the CIF semi-finals
her senior year… Also working on a minor in culinary
arts and would like to transfer to Concordia College… Is
studying to be a massage therapist and would also like
to be a pastry chef… Both of her brothers, Michael (27)
and Rudy (21), participated in sports in high school…
Likes to bake in her spare time… Nicknamed “B”… Is the
daughter of Felix and Romie Sanchez… Born in Bellflower,
CA on October 2, 1986….. |
