A trio of Cerritos College women's
water polo players scored three goals each to help lead
the Falcons to a 17-1 South Coast Conference victory at
Pasadena City College on Wednesday afternoon. With the
win, the Falcons are now 14-2 overall and have won five
games in a row, while they are 3-1 in conference action.
Cerritos will return to Pasadena for the Pasadena Bowl
this Friday and Saturday.

HS) helped the Falcons jump out to a 7-0
lead at halftime, as the team cruised to the victory.
Cerritos closed out the fourth period by outscoring the
Lancers, 6-0. In addition to her three tallies, Aguirre
added three assists, as did sophomore
Hannah Anzai
(Cerritos HS),
who also chipped in with two goals. Freshman
Jeannette Diaz
(Bell Gardens HS)
also contributed two goals and two steals in the win,
while sophomore
Michelle
Garoutte (Lakewood
HS) led the team with three steals, while
the team recorded 16 in the game. Adding two steals were
Hernandez, Diaz, freshman
Ashley Badali
(Gahr HS)
and sophomore
Crystal May
(Pioneer HS).
Sophomore goalkeeper
Barbie Diaz
(Bell Gardens HS)
and freshman
Sarah Kenney
(La Habra HS)
turned away eight shots, with Diaz recording five saves
and adding a steal. |
