The Cerritos College women's
water polo team continued their magical season, as
they won their fourth tournament of the season, and
with their four wins at the Citrus Tournament, have
now won 14 consecutive games. The Falcons, ranked #4
in the state, are now 23-2 on the season, which sets
a new school record for most wins in a year. They
established the old record of 21 last season under
first-year head coach
Sergio
Macias.
The team will resume South Coast Conference play on
Wednesday when they play host to El Camino College
for a 4:15 p.m. contest.
In the tournament, the Falcons
opened with a 7-2 win over San Diego Mesa College,
which was followed by a 19-5 win over the Warriors,
who they host on Wednesday. In the semi-finals,
Cerritos recorded a 15-7 victory over Palomar
College, which set up the championship match against
5th-rated Fullerton College, where the Falcons came
away with an 8-6 victory.

three goals and three steals, while freshman

recording a steal. It was a balanced scoring attack
against El Camino, with nine different players
scoring, which was accompanied by 16 steals on

to life in the win over Palomar, scoring six times
on seven shots, while Sanchez (four goals, four
steals), Carrillo (two goals) and Grace Quintana

each had two steals. The Falcons fought off a tough
Fullerton team, by scoring three fourth quarter
goals to come away with the win. Sanchez led the
team with four goals, while Grace Quintana added two
goals. In the goal, Kenny turned away countless
Hornet shots and finished the game with 10 saves to
anchor the win.
