The Cerritos College women's water
polo team raced out to a 13-0 halftime lead in their
South Coast Conference match at Los Angeles Trade-Tech
on Wednesday and went on to post a 20-2 victory. The win
improved the Falcons season record to 9-1 and 2-0 in the
SCC and it sets up a showdown with powerful cross-town

the team, as a quartet of players scored three times for
the Falcons, with sophomore

assisting on four of the tallies. Freshman scoring
sensation

(Bell
Gardens HS),
the team's leading scorer, had three on the day, as did
freshmen
Ashley Badali
(Gahr
HS),
Krystal Perez
(Pioneer
HS)
and sophomore
Crystal May
(Pioneer
HS).
Goalkeeping duo
Barbie Diaz
(Bell
Gardens HS)
and
Sarah Kenny
(La
Habra HS)
were still tested, with Diaz coming up with nine stops
and Kenny with three to go along with two steals.
Sophomores
Michelle
Garoutte
(Lakewood
HS)
and
Christina
Edwards
(El
Rancho HS)
both scored twice in the win, while freshmen
Grace
Quintana
(Montebello
HS)
and
Daisy
Carrillo
(Montebello

both had two assists, with Quintana leading the team
with three steals. On the day, the Falcon players
