In their
final
South
Coast
Conference
game
before
the
conference
tournament,
the
Cerritos
College
women's
water
polo
team
secured
their
first
undefeated
regular
season
after an
18-1
home
victory
over Rio
Hondo
College
on
Wednesday.
The
Falcons,
ranked
#2 in
the
state,
are now
24-2
overall
and 6-0
in
conference
play.
The win
also
tied the
school
record
for most
wins in
a row at
19, as
they
prepare
for the
conference
tournament,
which
will
take
place
Nov. 6-8
at
Pasadena
City
College.
With
their
conference
title,
Cerritos
earned a
bye in
the
first
round.
The
Falcons
used the
game to
rotate
their
players,
while
seven
starters
sat out
of the
action.
By the
end of
the
first
quarter,
Cerritos
opened
up a 7-0
lead and
the only
question
was
whether
the team
would be
able to
record
their
third
shutout
of the
season.
After
leading
17-0,
the
Roadrunners
scored
on a
penalty
shot
with
3:14
remaining
in the
contest.
