Falcons dominate Pasadena City
College, 14-3 |

The
Cerritos
College
women's
water
polo
team
opened
up a 5-0
first
quarter
lead and
increased
that to
10-1 at
halftime
against
Pasadena
City
College
on
Wednesday
afternoon
at the
Falcon
Aquatic
Center,
en route
to a
14-3
South
Coast
Conference
victory.
The win
was the
19th in
a row
for the
#2-ranked
team in
the
state
and
defending
state
champions,
while
the
Lancers
fell to
8-15
overall
and 3-4
in the
SCC. The
win also
marks
the
second
straight
conference
championship
for
Cerritos
(26-1,
7-0),
who will
enter
the
conference
tournament
as the
top-seeded
team on
November
6.
In
opening
the 5-0
first
quarter
lead,
the
Falcons
had five
different
players
score
goals,
while
nine
finished
in the
scoring
column
on the
day. The
Lancers
had a
couple
of
chances
to
score,
but saw
three
first
half
shots
hit the
crossbar.
Five
different
players
scored
twice
for
Cerritos,
with
freshman
Sharon Pedregon
(El
Rancho
HS)
adding a
pair of
assists
and
steals
with her
two
goals.
Sophomores
Natalie Peng
(Cerritos
HS)
and
Nicole
Tuning
(Los
Altos HS)
joined
freshmen
Jessie
Ku
(Cerritos
HS)
and Mehgan Carbajal
(El
Rancho
HS)
with a
pair of
goals.
Shannon
Adams
scored
twice
for
Pasadena
City,
while
Jade Wilia
added
the
other
goal.
Sophomore
Miranda Bakke
(Gahr
HS)
made six
saves in
the
first
half of
action,
with
freshman
Melissa Cedarholm
(Warren
HS)
coming
in to
play the
second
half
posted
four
saves.
