of their

Conference
win at
Rio
Hondo
College
on
Wednesday,
the
Cerritos
College
women's
water
polo
starters
got a
chance
to watch
the rest
of the
roster
finish
out the
game.
The
Falcons
(10-1
overall,
3-0 SCC)
opened
up a 7-1
lead
after
the
first
quarter,
while
the rest
of the
team
outscored
the
Roadrunners,
8-3 the
remainder
of the
contest.
The team
will now
compete
in the
San
Diego
Mesa
Tournament
this
weekend.
Freshman
Katherine Gabayeron
(Cerritos
HS)
scored
four
first
period
goals
for
Cerritos,
while
freshman
Anna
Herrera
(Rowland
HS)
added
three
goals in
the win.
It was a
balanced
attack
for the
Falcons,
who saw
nine
different
players
score
goals,
while as
a team
they
posted
20
steals.
The duo of sophomore
Adriana
Rodriguez
(El
Rancho
HS)
and
freshman
Janine Loera
(Paramount
HS)
each
recorded
four
steals,
while
freshmen
Yuri
Vela
(Schurr
HS)
and
Brenda Ovando
(Montebello
HS)
both
finished
the game
with
three
steals.
Adding
to the
scoring
was
freshman Emilianne
Shute
(Downey
HS),
with six
players
scoring
once,
while
freshman
goalkeeper
Sharon
Ku
(Cerritos
HS)
made
five
saves.
