Was a red-shirt last season… As a
freshman, he placed fifth in the state championships at
133 pounds, after coming in fourth in the Southern
California Championships… Placed second in the South
Coast Conference… Posted a 22-12 record, which included
a 19-12 record at 133 pounds and was 3-0 at 141 pounds…
Placed third at the West Valley Tournament at 133
pounds… As a senior in high school, he competed in the
National Tournament after competing in the Masters Meet,
State Championships and CIF Championships… Won the
Suburban League championship as a senior and junior,
while placing in the CIF Championships three straight
years… Was a four-time All-Suburban League selection…
Also played four years of football and two seasons of
baseball… Most memorable moment was when he won the
Southern Section CIF Masters Championship… Likes to
wrestle and bodyboard in his spare time… Nicknamed
“Charlie”… Has two siblings – Johnny and Seslie… Is the
son of Carlos and Sandy Alaniz… Born in Torrance, CA on
