Cerritos College Athletics - 2006 Wrestling Bio: Jimmy Valdivia

Had a tremendous run at the end of the season… After winning the Southern California championship at 125 pounds, he advanced to the state championship match… Won his semi-final match by a 1-0 score before dropping a 9-3 decision to Fresno City College’s Sabi Singh in the finals… Posted a season record of 20-13 and went 15-10 at 125 pounds, 5-3 at 133 pounds and 0-5 at 141 pounds… Was a two-time Mission Valley League champion in high school and also won the CIF championship his senior season… Also placed third at the Masters Meet and qualified for the state championship… As a junior, he came in fourth place at the CIF championships, while he also qualified as a freshman and sophomore… Most memorable moments were when he was the West Coast Classic and CIF Championship… His brother Mark played football and was a wrestler in high school… Likes to spend time with his nephew in his spare time… Nicknamed “Champ”… Is the son of Jim and Carol Valdivia… Born on October 21, 1987…..
