North Torrance HS: Was a three-time Ocean League champion and qualified for the CIF Championships three straight years… Reached the finals as a senior and went on to place sixth in the Masters Meet and qualified for the State Championships… Posted a 42-7 record as a senior after he went 40-11 as a junior and 31-20 his sophomore season... Was coached by current Falcon head coach Don Garriott…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he recorded a pin to advance to the state championships… His brother, Brett (19), was also on the wrestling team… Has three other siblings – Jordan (11), Gemma (9) and Grace (2)… Likes to sleep in his spare time… Nicknamed “Opie”… Is the son of Rick and Mary Gurrola… Bon in Long Beach, CA…..
