Santa Fe HS: Helped the team win the CIF Championship his junior and freshman years, while they placed second in his senior and sophomore seasons… Won the individual CIF Championship as a senior and came in third place at the Masters Meet… Came in fifth place in CIF as a junior and was a fourth place finisher his sophomore year and came in fifth as the Masters Meet… Was coached by former Falcon Sal Garcia…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he won six straight matches at the Masters Meet to qualify for the state championships as a sophomore… Would like to transfer to Cal State Fullerton and study to be a teacher… His older brother George (23) wrestled at El Rancho High, while his younger brother Matthew (16) is a senior on the wrestling team at Santa Fe High… Is the son of George and Annette Couts… Born in Whittier, CA on September 28, 1990…..
