Cerritos (2007): Was 14-11 at 174 pounds and went 5-3 at 184 pounds… Finished fifth in the state championships at 174 pounds after coming in fifth place at the Southern California Regional Tournament… Placed second at 184 pounds at the Cerritos Tournament…..

Long Beach Millikan HS: Attended Golden West College and Long Beach City College out of high school, but neither fields a wrestling team… Was a two-time Press Telegram Dream Team selection… Named his team’s Most Outstanding Athlete as a senior and set the school’s single-season and career pins record… Team won the CIF Championship his sophomore and junior seasons… Posted a 53-6 record as a senior after going 42-14 as a junior… Finished in the top four at every tournament his senior year and came in third place at the CIF Championships… Was 31-0 his sophomore season… Also played one season on the baseball team…..
