Cerritos (2008): Posted an 8-8 mark at 149 pounds and was 4-2 at 157 pounds… Reached the semi-finals of the Modesto Tournament, but lost his final two matches and finished in fourth place… One of his wins was a 13-5 victory over teammate Freddy Flores to advance to the semi-finals… Went 3-2 at 149 pounds at the Cerritos Tournament… Competed at 157 pounds at the San Francisco State Tournament and went 2-1…..

North Torrance HS: Placed third in the CIF Championships as a senior, as his team won the title… Was a 1^st Team All-Pioneer League selection as a senior and posted a 25-1 record… Team won the league championship two years in a row… Named 2^nd Team all-league as a junior… Was coached by current Falcon head coach Don Garriott… Also spent three years on the baseball team and two on the football team…..
