Cerritos (2008):
Named All-American after finishing fourth in the
State Championship at 157 pounds… Posted a 28-8
overall record on the year, while going 25-7 at
157 pounds and 3-1 at 165 pounds… Reached the
semi-finals at the state championship before
dropping a 5-2 decision to Robert Carothers of
Sacramento City College… Rebounded to win his
nest match by pin over Rafael Munoz of Lassen
College before being defeated in the third place
match… Was a third place finisher at the
Southern California Championships after entering
as the top seed… Was upset in the semi-finals by
eventual champion Danny Kennedy of Santa Ana
College, 7-6, but came back to win his final two
matches for third place… Pinned Alvaro Zermenko
of Bakersfield College in 4:00 in the third
place match… Won the Cuesta Tournament
championship and came in third place in three
other tournaments…..
Loara HS:
Placed sixth in the Masters Meet and third at
CIF his senior year while posting a 37-7 record…
Won the Empire League championship twice…
Finished fourth in the CIF championships as a
junior… Spent three years on the wrestling
team…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when his team won the
CIF Dual Championship his junior season… Aspires
to be a wrestling coach… Likes to wrestle, play
basketball and dance in his spare time…
Nicknamed “G-Sav”… Has two siblings – Lee and
Crystal… Is the son of Craig and Dawn Sauvageau…
