Before the orientation, you should:
(1) buy the course materials - the book and online access - at
the Cerritos College bookstore:
BEGINNING ALGEBRA & MY MATH LAB PACKAGE

(2) become familiar
with our online environment, Course Compass.
Click on the Course Content link below and take the available
tutorials.
NOTE: To actually register with Course Compass, you will need a
class code, which you will receive
during the orientation.
and
(3)
review anything in Chapter 1 that you need to review.
Come to orientation
with notes and solved exercises from Chapter 1. You are welcome
to ask questions on that material. You choose what to
work on in Chapter 1, based on your needs. You should have at least
40 different exercises done, neatly on 8 1/2" x 11" paper, form any
part of Chapter 1, by Friday, August 17. This assignment
is worth 10 points.
If you prefer to start work
online before the orientation, you may email me, request the class code
and register with Course Compass. You may submit your Chapter 1 work
online, as well. If it is submitted by end of day Friday 8/17 you will
earn 10 points. Any time during the following 7 days, you will earn 5
points.
