Plagiarism:
Definition and Penalties
Plagiarism: Plagiarism is taking credit for someone else's words
or ideas. This includes, but is not limited to, copying out of a book or off a
web page without giving proper credit, minimally rewording or rearranging
sentences from a book or web page, passing off another's idea or solution as
your own, and copied assignments. All direct quotes must be placed in
quotation marks and the source must be immediately referenced. The
minimum penalty for plagiarism is a zero on the work in question and the
maximum is a failing grade in the class.
I have received a copy of the revised test schedule, the revised grade determination plan, and the term project due date.
I have received a copy of the definition plagiarism as related to this class, and I was present when the instructor discussed the contents. If I was not present, I have received a copy of the plagiarism statement, and have had an opportunity to read it and ask questions about it. I understand that this applies to all work done in class including homework, tests and term projects.
