PE 245 Pep Unit

Course Description

This course is designed to develop the student's understanding of the basic fundamentals of Cheerleading, Yell-leading, and Stunt-Team. These fundamentals will be taught through instruction and practice in cheers, yells, sideline dances, stunts and stunt progressions. Students will also be taught defense and offense and what sports are supported by Pep Squad.

Course Content

Class will include instruction in the following:

	All arm angles
	Jumps
	Kicks
	General Cheers
	Voice Projection
	Sideline Dances
	Stunt Techniques
	Sport Defense vs. Offense

Student Responsibilities

	Participate in all class activities
	Appropriate attire for practice
	Attendance of two matches in the Summer Sports
	One paper (1-2 pages) on the topic of cheerleading
	Two assignments

Grading Policy

Participation 40 points

Absences 0-3(A) 4-5(B) 6 (C) 7(D)

Skill Improvement 20 points

Game Attendance 40 points(20 each game)

Short Essay Paper 30 points

Assignments 20 points(10 points each assignment)

Course Description

this course is designed to develop the student's understanding of the basic fundamentals of Song leading, Yell-leading and dance performances. These fundamentals will be taught through instruction and practice in pom routines and pom usage, yells, sideline dances, half-time performances and performance progressions. Students will also be taught defense and offense and what sports are supported by pep Squad.
