Wisconsin ultrarunner,
Kettle Moraine 100 Endurance Runs race director, and attorney Tim
Yanacheck joins the veteran staff of the 2005 USA 100K Team. Yanacheck
is the team leader for the 6-member men’s team that will represent the
US in team competition against other national teams from around the
world at the World Cup 100K. Expressing his philosophy about the 100K
team, Yanacheck says “I believe the pride, the friendships, and the
memories the athletes develop as members of the national team stay with
them for the rest of their lives, and can be used as a base to build
teams in future years.”
Yanacheck was selected
by the USATF Mountain/Ultra/Trail (MUT) Running Council from applicants
who submitted applications. MUT also selected veteran Lin Gentling of
Minnesota to lead the 6-member women’s team and Lion Caldwell, a
practicing physician for the Navajo Indian Reservation, who has served
as the 100K team physician 9 years as the team physician.
The USA 100K Team
will compete at the IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners) 100K
World Cup under the patronage of IAAF (International Association of
Athletics Federations) in Lake Saroma, Japan on June 26, 2005. MUT will
name team members on March 21, 2005. For team selection criteria and
