Name: Kevin Sawchuck

Event: Any trail distance from marathon to 100 miles.

Hometown: Alamo, CA

Sponsor(s): Montrail, Patagonia, Petzl, Smartwool

Date of birth: 9/9/65

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 148 lbs

Years running: 34

Running specialty:
I like anything in the mountains with a view and a rough trail. I like it better if it's really steep and I have an excuse to walk and look at things.

Career Accomplishments: : I've finished over 100 marathons and ultramarathons, including 11 100-milers. I've been fortunate enough to have few injuries and race well for 10 years.

Running achievement I am most proud of: All of my 100-milers; 4:05 Quadruple Dipsea (CA); 7:04 Dick Collins 50M (CA); 5:45 in a 50-mile road race; 93 hours and 5 minutes as the current record for running the 220-mile John Muir Trail (CA) record.

Why I run: It keeps me sane, healthy, and outside.

Future Goals: :  I'm now carefully preparing to set the >70 age-group record at the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run. It may be 30 years away, but if I'm careful and don't push it to hard, I may have it in me.
