Yesterday was the 1st of 10 events in the Indiana USATF 2003 trail Series. The event was a huge success. There was just enough mud and ice on the trails at Eagle Creek Park to present a challenge, a bright blue sky ,and a great turn out. It was my first opportunity to apply phase I of my membership drive and re-ignite USATF presence in Indiana. I also took a 2nd place age division award. That made the sunshine even brighter! Not bad for a "cotton Top". The web page is developing at www.INUSATF.org  I am pleased to have lured back a member  club with 2000+ runners and initiated club/team competition. This series is time consuming in addition to BOD responsibility and the LDR Chair duties. I am spending time learning about MUT and hope to be an asset by next meeting in N. Carolina. My wife, Cheryl, is the Indiana association Treasurer and Race walk Chair. Our computer room is 2' deep in USATF. The flow of MUT Yahoo e-mail helps me learn. I shall not clutter everyone's  e-mail piles with endless queries but I am listening. The 3 event directors involved with our series are well established and progressive. They are all interested in communicating and interacting with each other and I see a bright future for MUT in Indiana. They do not have the resources at present to put up big bucks for National events. The fact that they came together for this INUSATF series says a lot. This is our schedule:
