Malinali to Malinche: Myth Reality and Interpretation

Malinche or Malintzin was a Mexican Indian princess who became mistress, guide, and interpreter to Hernán Cortés during his conquest of México. Her knowledge of the Mayan dialect, Nahuatl, and Spanish language aided Cortes and his army to ultimately conquer the Aztec Empire. Taken from Britannica Biography Collection and John Taylor’s article: Reinterpreting Malinche.
