The
Cerritos College Librarians offer one-hour orientation sessions covering
basic library and research skills. We also offer more customized
orientations that focus on in-depth research
techniques in all disciplines.
Whether
your students have to write a report, a critical essay, or a research
paper, the librarians will show them how and where to start. We will make
sure they don’t get lost in the overwhelming sea of information.
Information
competency—the ability to find, use, evaluate, and articulate
information—is essential for success in college and in life. A Library
orientation session will sharpen your students’ information competency
skills.
They
will learn about:
-
Organization
of the Cerritos College Library
-
Finding
Books Using the Online Book Catalog
-
Finding
Articles Using Periodical Indexes
-
