 Modified Syllabus

This course is offered for the spring semester: January 7 to May 16, 2008

Course Description - General Information about LIBR 100 courses.  Access this page for more information about the Library 100 course, as well as other offerings for upcoming semesters.

  •  In-person orientation: You are required to attend one 2 hour orientation (Orientation Schedule) in the library. We will meet in LC51. Come to the Library Reference Desk for instructions after you have enrolled in the course.
  •  Books:  You must purchase the Introduction to Library Resources: Library 100 workbook.  The lessons are very detailed and all the information you need to successfully complete your assignments is contained in the workbook.
  • Email:  Because we are not scheduled to see each other regularly, I communicate with you via email.  Keep an email address up to date in MyCerritos.  If you need help establishing an email account or help with changing it in MyCerritos please see me or go to the reference desk. You may log into TalonNet to view your progress for each lesson.
  • Credit for the class: You must earn at least 70% of the points available, you may not miss more than two assignments, and you must complete the final project.  If I perceive a problem, I’ll contact you via e-mail. This is a self-paced class, so there are no set due dates. However, it will be to your advantage to keep up. All assignments must be handed in by 10pm Tuesday May 13th 2008.
  • Academic Honesty : This is an independent study course. You are expected to read the workbook and complete the worksheets on your own. DO NOT COPY THE WORK OF OTHER STUDENTS AND DO NOT LET THEM COPY YOUR WORK. Academic dishonesty can jeopardize your grade in the course. Please read page 30 of the Cerritos College Catalog for more information.

Your assignment #7 and your final project must be totally different from everyone else’s.  If you are found to have copied an assignment, you will not receive credit for that assignment.
