Skill development involving equalities, proportions, and areas of the above figures is included.   Logical thinking is stressed in problem solutions.  This course is designed for students who have not taken high school plane geometry.  (Formerly MATH 32)

Course Content

  • Triangles

  • Other polygons

  • Circles

  • Similar figures and proportion

  • Areas

Course Objectives

  • Prove a specific problem by use of deductive reasoning

  • Analyze any geometric proof presented on the covered subject matter

  • Prove congruence of line segments and angles in triangle related problems

  • Find the area of the various geometric figures
