Health Education Department Chair

I've been teaching at Cerritos College since 2000. I started as a part-time instructor while working as a full time Life Coach and Personal Trainer. I fell in love with teaching! When I first started teaching at Cerritos College, the Health and Physical Education, Dance, and Athletics Division (HPEDA) was developing a Fitness Specialist and Athletic Trainer Aide Certificate Programs and an AA degree in Exercise Science. I felt that I could add my academic and practical experience to the program. After teaching part-time for 4 years, I transitioned to a full-time instructor and as the Health Education Department Chairperson. It was a great opportunity for me to help the health education program grow.

I hold a BS degree in Microbiology from the University of South Florida, a MS in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy, and an EdD in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University.
