The Cerritos College Procurement and Contract Services Department is committed to providing high caliber strategic educational and operational support for all departments within the college. The Procurement and Contract Services Department has adopted these Values and Guiding Principles as its own standard for public procurement and best practice for all of its business units. The Values and Guiding Principles include Accountability, Ethics, Impartiality, Professionalism, Service, and Transparency; these principles are based on three pillars: public trust, public service and justice.

On March 6, 2013, the Cerritos Community College District Board of Trustees adopted (by Resolution No. 13-06) the Values and Guiding Principles of the Public Procurement Profession.

These Values and Guiding Principles of Public Procurement were developed collaboratively by stakeholder organizations lead by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), now formerly known as NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement.
