Welcome and Thank you for visiting my Web Page!

Hi, my name is Martha Trujillo. I am a Pre-Med student at Cerritos College and I am planning to transfer in 2005. I took Geography 105 (World Regional Geography) in the Spring of 2004. For my Scholars' Honors Program I decided to do a web page based on "The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World." I chose this topic because I am very interested in learning more about ancient architecture and its symbolism. On my web page you will find information about the ancient cultures and physical nature of the area in which the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World were established, as well as their location, their size, majesty, and beauty. Six of the seven wonders no longer stand, having been destroyed by natural disasters or by humans. Their choices were man-made works of monumental scale, pyramids, temples and tombs of surprising magnificence. For their builders, the Seven Wonders were a celebration of religion, mythology, art, power, and science. For us, they reflect the ability of humans to change the surrounding landscape by building these beautiful structures.

The time I spent in class was very helpful for me; it helped me better understand some of the problems that most countries are facing and also to learn the locations of the most important cities, rivers and mountains in each country. By the time I started working on my project, I got to know Dr. Kreger better. He was always helping me with my project and we worked together to make this web page interesting for you. I recommend you to get involved in the Scholars' Honors Program because it offers students many opportunities and it helps you to stay motivated during your time at Cerritos College. Also, if you are planning to take any Geography class, take it with Dr. Kreger. He makes the class fascinating and clear. You will learn and have fun at the same time!
