PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Architecture Department offers intellectually stimulating pre-professional degree and certificate programs for men and women. The faculty is comprised of individuals actively involved in professional practice, preservation research and energy conservation.
The curriculum consists of two complementary paths: (1) for students who will continue their studies and transfer to a professional school of Architecture, and (2) for students entering the work force. Most courses are laboratories allowing students close contact with faculty and other students to further advance the exchange of ideas and intellectual development.	Student Project

ASSOCIATE IN ARTS DEGREE PROGRAM

ASSOCIATE IN ARTS DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
Complete 60 units to include (1) the above course requirements, (2) the A.A. Degree general education requirements, and (3) electives as needed.
RECOMMENDED ELECTIVES: ART 185, BA 100, BUSR 101, ENGT 255, PSYC 101.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Employment as an architectural draftsman.

NOTE: The undergraduate programs in Architecture are impacted programs. Besides meeting entrance requirements to the state university, prospective students are required to also make separate application to the School of Architecture. Applicants are evaluated through a selection process carried out by the departmental faculty. See your counselor and departmental faculty for specific recommendations for this major.

ASSOCIATES IN ARTS DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
Complete 60 units to include (1) the above required courses, (2) ARCH 212, 222 (3) 9 units of Architectural Electives, and (4) the Associate in Arts Degree in General Education requirements.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Bachelor Degree graduates will have developed design and related skills necessary for entry into the professional field of Architecture.
