UPCOMING SCHEDULE OF ARCHITECTURE CLASSES

The following information is provided to assist you in planning out your future Architecture class schedule at the earliest possible time. This information is a supplement to the complete registration information found in the published class schedules. These class schedules includes complete registration information including a registration calendar, information on orientation (assessment, counseling, follow-up), on-line registration information, fees and financial aid information, other academic information, and a complete list of all courses offered during the semester.  The Spring 2009 is expected on-campus in November, 2008 - The first day of class is January 12, 2009. The Summer 2009 Schedule is expected on-campus in April, 2009 - The first day of class is May 22, 2009.  Note that ALL Architecture classes have been full for the past few years.  For more on-line information, check the Cerritos College Home Page. SPRING 2009 ARCHITECTURE SCHEDULE

The following classes start on January 12, 2009 and end on May 21, 2009.  Be sure to become eligible for on-line registration as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to obtain all of your desired classes.  Registration will operate starting in December, 2008.  Because of the high demand for courses please register early to avoid disappointment.  If you have completed the prerequisite for any course at another college or through work experience please clear your prerequisite with counseling early so you are permitted to enroll in the course of your choice.

	ARCH 110 - 3.0 UNITS - INTRODUCTION TO ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
	An introduction to the design professions: architecture, engineering, interior designing, and landscape architecture.  The relationship between the designer and contractor is also studied.

	A study of architectural drafting with emphasis on a two-story dwelling and preparation of pertinent working drawings.

	This course is a survey of the history of architecture from the birth of  civilization to the present time.

	ARCH 123 - 4.0 UNITS - INTRODUCTION TO 2-D COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING
	An introduction to computer aided drafting and design using the latest release of AutoCAD software.

	ARCH 212 - 3.0 UNITS - ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN THEORY I
	A course that explores the nature and limitation of material, using two-dimensional studies of form and composition.

	ARCH 222 - 3.0 UNITS - ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN THEORY II
	A study of structural problems and creation of three-dimensional solutions. A short study of color and pattern is also covered.
	Prerequisite: ARCH 212 or equivalent with a grade of "C" or higher, or appropriate work experience.

	Computer aided design, working drawings and architectural building modeling with Revit Architecture 2009 software.
