Excel Project 1 - Creating a Worksheet and an Embedded Chart
This lab assignment is from the Excel 2007,
Complete Concepts and Techniques lab book.
- Read and do the Creating a Worksheet
and an Embedded Chart tutorial, pages
EX 1 - 69.

Type
the following in empty cells below the chart, say cells A24 - A26:
- CIS 101 Excel Project
1
- Class Meeting Day and Time
(example: Friday 9:00 AM)
- Your name
- Printout 1: Check your work. When you are done
with the tutorial your printout should look like the following figure:
- 1-87 on page

- Notes:
Page EX 54, step 8, third bullet.
Make sure you click cell I9 (not nineteen, but cell i 9). This
will deselect the chart. If you have the chart selected when
you print, then only the chart will be printed. This should
not be a problem if you have done step number 2 above typing the
project information, class section, and your name in cells A24 -
A26. By typing in these cells you will have deselected the
chart.
To Print a Worksheet, page EX 58.
Just like the Access projects, I strongly recommend that you Print
Preview, make any setting changes needed to print on one page.
Then click Print to bring up the Print Dialogue box. In the
CIS labs verify that you are printing to the correct printer.
- Printout 2: This is for the
traditional students only. You will need to print out a copy
of your formulas. Please use the steps on pages EX 135 - 137,
Displaying and Printing the Formulas Version of the Worksheet.
- Save your file one last time.
- Submit your homework for grading:
Traditional students: Turn
in the two printouts listed above.
Staple the printouts together with the
formulas page as the last page. I will take points off if the
homework is not stapled.
Online students: Upload
the Walk and Rock Music 1st Quarter Sales workbook file to the
Excel Project 1 assignment in TalonNet.
Be sure to submit/turn in the lab assignment by the
due date.
