CIS 201 Systems Analysis & Design

Project 10

  1. Read Chapter 10 pages 448 - 488 in your textbook.
  2. Read and work through the Case-Sim: SCR Associates on page 492.  At the end of the simulation session there is a task list of things you need to do.  You may complete all of the tasks, but I will be only asking for specific task items for grading purposes.  Please be sure to submit only the task items I request.
  • Note:  remember you need a password.  The password is sad7
  1. Task #1:  Task 1 is in this document.  Please review it and use it to help you focus on the TIMS system design while completing the remaining tasks.
  2. Task #2:  Develop a testing plan that includes unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.  Refer to Jesse's message in the SCR online case simulation.
  3. Task #3:  Develop a training plan for the new TIMS system using Jesse's message as a guide.  List the groups that should receive training, the topics to be covered, and the training methods to be used. 
  4. Task #4: Make a recommendation for a data conversion plan and a changeover method for TIMS.  Also, create a post implementation review plan.  Include the fact-finding methods, a list of topics to cover, the best time to conduct the review, and who should perform it.

  1. Submit your homework for grading:

Traditional students:  Print the homework.  If there is more than one page please staple them together.  Also, you will be presenting your systems implementation plans on 12/10/2008. 
Online students:  Upload the project document(s) to the Project 10 assignment in TalonNet.  You are welcome to present your designs at the 12/10/2008 class meeting with the other students.

  1. Optional:  Review the PowerPoint presentation and do the Chapter Review test found on the Lectures & Chapter Reviews Web page.

Be sure to submit/turn in the project by the due date.
